Glass Façade Design Consulting

In keeping with renowned architectural team Herzog & de Meuron’s reputation for innovative, strikingly detailed metal and glass façades, the duo’s first New York City project called for curved, green custom glass to cover the entire surface of this exclusive, multi-story condo building. The vision was to simulate a glass skin vacuum-stretched over the vertical and horizontal façade beams, which would in turn lend structural support to the frame. In order to figure out exactly how to do this, Joseph Jaroff was part of a team of professionals consulted for his expertise in custom glass fabrication and cast glass and lamination techniques. Joe offered a number of ideas that were critical for the technical realization of the design and sourced the manufacturer that was ultimately able to help the architects meet the budgetary needs of the project while maintaining the sophistication of their aesthetic goals.
